University of Queensland WFC

The University of Queensland Red Lions first fielded a senior women's team in 2013 in the South East Queensland Football League women's competition. They experienced a torrid time, finishing ninth and last. In 2014 they commenced in the newly formed Queensland Australian Football League female division, improving slightly to finish sixth (of seven). There was scant improvement in 2015 but in 2016 the Red Lions qualified for their first finals series and ultimately finished third following a somewhat unfortunate 4 point preliminary final loss to Yeronga South Brisbane. They again suffered misfortune in 2017 when they missed the finals only on percentage before re-entering the finals fray in 2018 when they came third.
